Cookridge Camera Club is a section of the Cookridge Village Association which is based in the Village Hall, in Cookridge, on the outskirts of North Leeds. The Camera Club has been in existence for some 50-odd years, and meets weekly in the Village Hall on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm (unless some external event has been organised).
The Club provides a convivial atmosphere in which members can display their work, have it critiqued, take part in competitions, as well as possibly gaining insights from the more experienced photographers who are invariably willing to help and share their expertise.
"Getting to Grips with your Camera" sessions are held on the last Wednesday of each month an hour before the main meeting (6.30pm). These practical tutorials are aimed at beginners and those who perhaps want to get the best out of a new camera.
Our programme runs from Semptember to July and is filled with a splendid array of entertaining and informative events, many of them arising from members' suggestions.
The cost of joining the Club is £25 per year plus £2.50 per meeting attended. There is an annual fee of £5 payable to the Village Hall Association, largely for insurance purposes.
